VAFA Lightning Premiership

The Mazenod women's team had their first taste of competition, with the VAFA lightning premiership held at Sportscover arena. Under the guidance of coach Paul Deegan, the female footballers had a sensational start to their season, winning two of three matches in fine style.more

MOCFC 2017 Registration Procedures

As per last year, ALL players are required to register online. The main purpose of this process is for each player to log on and tick the box they abide by the terms and conditions of the competition which is required by the VAFA and part of their insurance arrangements.

Vale Aldo Schiano

The club is saddened to report the passing of club legend Aldo Schiano after a battle with illness. Member of the Mazenod OCFC team of the Century, 100 goals in a season, 10 goals in a grand final, Aldo was the club superstar during the foundation years of the Mazenod OCFC in the ESCFA, and a key to the ascension up the grades and to where the club finds itself today. The Victorian Amateur Football Association has announced that the U18 competition will not proceed as planned however it is envisaged a Colts competition will proceed in a similar fashion to our highly successful participation in the 2014 Colts competition.more

Mazenod go down in season opener

The under 19's have lost in a thriller to Caulfield Grammarians by 3 points.

Whilst the Thirds got off to a winning start, knocking off the bye in the opening round.

Last but not least the three Mazenod Panther FIDA teams kicked off their season with mixed results. The blues beaten by a better team on the day, the blacks had the measure over coburg, whilst the whites had to settle for a walkover.

New Laws 2013

There are 3 new law changes and a number of modifications to interpretations.

The three approved law changes are:

1. Forceful contact below the knees
2. Separation of Ruckmen at stoppages.
3. Umpires to ‘Throw the ball up’ around the ground – Already in the VAFA.more

Pre-Season Update from Senior Coach Adrian Connolly

2013- Momentum Building

After the slow build up to preseason training from the core of our senior players I am glad to report to the Mazenod Old Collegians Community that we had 97 players train on Wednesday night. Yes 97 senior and U/19 players and surely this must be some record.more

Mazenod Update January 2013

Pre Season 2013 is about to start again and the club has been fortunate to see new senior recruits arrive prior to Christmas and a huge turn up of Under 19 candidates. At this stage the U19 turnout has been exceptional and with two teams a distinct possibility (last experienced in the early 1990s) we are interested to hear expressions of interest from any interested players to complete the roster.

Pre-Season training fires up again Wednesday 30th January, followed by Friday 2nd February and every Mon/Wed/Fri thereafter until the long weekend in March.

Mazenod Old Collegians Cricket Club Charity Day.

Mazenod Cricket Club are hosting their annual Charity Day this Sunday 27th January at the college. This year the Cricket Club is taking on the Footballers in a battle of the codes. The match will start at 2pm with a BBQ running all day and the bar will be open with drinks available at bar prices and all profits going to charity. All money raised on the day will go towards the Missions whom the College support every year through their Mission Action Day. We look forward to seeing as many people there as possible to support this great cause.

First game of the 2012 season started well with a great win against the boys from Wyndham, Justin Dovaston was the main attraction for the day as he took to the ground running through the best looking banner ever to have been on the Central Reserve, for his 100th game of footy for the mighty Panthers, Dovo’s cheer squad turned up in numbers to support our very popular team leader on his big milestone game.more

Mazenod Panthers Football Club is a non-profit organization whose purposes are to, initiate access for people with an intellectual disability to the game of Australian Rules Football, and develop, manage and promote a football team relevant to the skill level of individual people. Attendees of Special Schools are qualified to play, and are especially welcome to come along and enjoy a game of footy with the mighty Panthers.

A Call to the Mazenod OCFC Community

In attending the various season launches with other clubs it becomes apparent that many clubs are conducted by a precious few and that extra volunteers would be welcomed with open arms. The new committee finds itself in this position.


Central Reserve Announcement

The Richmond Cricket Club has today announced a planned move from Punt Rd Oval to Central Reserve, Glen Waverley. The move is supported by the Victorian Government, AFL, Richmond Football Club and the City of Monash who are all contributing financially to the construction of a new pavilion to be located on Central Reserve North (i.e. top oval).
