Bendigo Bank Limited

Community Banking® is building a better Gippsland

When the first Community Bank® branch opened in Gippsland's Lang Lang in 1998, it was in response to a recognised community need.

Based on banking, but focussed on community, it returned face-to-face banking services to local residents and businesses following widespread bank branch closures during the 1990s.

Now, a decade on, communities across Gippsland are reaping the rewards of their own initiative and banking activities.

More than just keeping local jobs and money in the community, Community Bank® branches are providing much-needed financial support for a range of local community projects and not-for-profit organisations.

Together, Gippsland's Community Bank® branches are bringing a renewed focus to our communities and investing in projects and initiatives that will help us to secure a sustainable and bright future for the region.

In particular, our Community Bank® branches have collaborated to support a range of youth programs and initiatives that will develop our next generation of community leaders.

Community Bank® branches in Gippsland have enabled our communities to take a proactive approach to the banking services we receive - and they have enabled us all to build the kind of communities we want to live and work in.

And our continued success depends on your support.  Whether you are banking for yourself, your family or your business, your local Community Bank® branch can help.

With competitively priced banking products and services, plus the kind of service you only get from a Community Bank® branch, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better place to do your banking.

United Petroleum Pty Ltd

United Petroleum is an independent, Australian owned petrol and convenience company which offers customers premium quality fuels and competitive pricing Australia-wide.

United Petroleum is one of the fastest growing independent companies in Australia, specialising in the retail and wholesale fuel markets; convenience stores and ethanol manufacture; generating employment for over 2,500 Australians.

United Petroleum History

The Directors of United commenced in the petroleum industry in 1981, operating a group of service stations under the Astron banner. Astron was closely associated with Esso (an Exxon Company), and by 1990 the company had constructed 23 new sites operating under the Esso brand throughout Victoria.

United Petroleum was established in 1993 with the opening of a chain of service stations/convenience stores in South Australia. It expanded operations into Victoria, and over the next two years built networks in New South Wales, ACT and Queensland.

The company subsequently acquired and developed sites in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania and now has a national network of service stations and associated tenancies.

United Petroleum vertically integrated in the mid 2000’s via the acquisition of fuel import terminals in Victoria, New South Wales, Northern Territory and Tasmania. Control of terminal facilities has allowed United Petroleum to seek high quality petroleum products not only from refineries within our shores, but also via the importation of bulk tanker-loads.

This has allowed the company to increase supply-chain security and provides pricing and negotiating benefits, giving the United Petroleum the ability to compete aggressively with major competitors.

With a name like MUSASHI and an international reputation second to none, it is often assumed that Musashi is not an Australian company. Nothing could be further from the truth. Musashi is a wholly Australian owned and Australian run company. Musashi is very proud of its standing amongst the worlds elite athletes but is also very proud to be Australian.
Formed in the mid-to-late eighties, Musashi is still run today by its founder, Tim Horewood. The company has and always will be dedicated to a range of sports supplements to assist the performance of elite athletes.

In the spirit of this, Tim searched for an athlete whose name he could use within the company name. Extensive research led him to the name MUSASHI. Miyamato Musashi was a 17th Century Japanese samurai whose skill was beyond belief, leading him to be considered the best there ever was.

Not only was Musashi a great warrior, but a superb artist who expressed his softer side in a number of prized paintings. In the last two years of his life, Musashi retreated to a cave to write the Book of Five Rings, a strategy of battle which is still used extensively in business today.

Having an enormous international reputation allows MUSASHI to work with elite athletes in a wide variety of sports. From Australian Rules and NFL football through to Swimming and just about every Olympic event, MUSASHI can fulfill any requirement of an athlete or team. The athletes with which MUSASHI works with are the best in the world and this makes them justifiably proud of its wide export markets.

In recognition of this, the prestigious North American publication, `Drugs in Sport' had this to say about MUSASHI.....

Musashi, an Australian company whose products are being used worldwide has the most scientific and comprehensive line of amino acid products, all in powder form for maximum absorption.

Not only do they carry all the individual amino acids, but they also have a unique line of selective Amino Acids mixtures and several other interesting products.

Musashi preparations are state-of-the-art products in using amino acids physiologically and pharmacologically..."

While these accolades are appreciated by MUSASHI, they still go to great lengths to explain that we are proudly Australian and will always stay that way.
