REGISTRATION

How do I join Gisborne Bulldogs?

There are two seasons each year—Summer (October to March) and Winter (April to September).

ALL NEW PLAYER REGISTRATIONS - please email us gisbornebulldogs@gmail.com - provide all your details - childs name, age, DOB, basketball experience, whether they want to play in a particular team with friends - and a committee member will get back in touch with you as soon as they can.  As we are volunteers please allow a couple of days for a committee member to return your call.

If a place is available in an existing team, you will be contacted by the relevant team manager. If not, you will be placed on a waiting list for your age group. When you fill out your registration form, you may wish to add any helpful information, for example, if you have played basketball before; what level you played at; and what other clubs you have played for.

We don’t just need players!

There are many ways you can be involved in the club. We are particularly grateful for all the help we can get from parents to assist in the smooth operations of the club. We always need coaches and are happy to help you on your path to coaching glory. If being a coach seems too hard, consider becoming a team manager. This is a vital role and you will enjoy being an integral part of your child’s team. If you can’t make a commitment on a weekly basis, talk to your team manager and coach about how you can be involved. Perhaps helping at training when you can make it or organising special events to boost team morale. Every little bit helps. The committee is also constantly on the look out for new members. Whatever skills you have we can make use of them. Even if you can’t make a regular commitment to be on the committee, let us know if you can help out at peak times (ie with registration, presentation nights) or when the club is on duty at Boardman Stadium. Contact the President to register your interest.

Membership fees

Fees are due and payable before the start of each season. Teams for each season must be in by the semi-finals of the previous season. Please confirm with your team manager that your child is intending to continue playing the following season. This will secure a position in a team for your child. Players will not be able to take the court unless they have either paid their fees in full or have made other arrangements with our Treasurer.

Uniforms

Players are expected to be in full uniform by the third game of the season. The Gisborne Bulldogs uniform consists of the official club singlet and official club shorts. Please contact the Uniform Officer via email - uniforms.gbbc@gmail.com - promptly to make arrangements to purchase the appropriate uniform.
