Player Development
Gisborne Bulldogs domestic players are encouraged to further their development.
There are a number of avenues you can take to improve your game.
Representative Basketball. A number of players are in current Jets teams. Selection is based on try outs held in October each year. Players train twice a week (normally in Sunbury) and play around Melbourne on a Friday night.

Many of our players also play for the Macedon Ranges Basketball Assoc Representative Teams. They normally take part in one tournament per year, timing dependant on age group. Training is once a week leading up to the tournament.

Domestic Development Program is for kids aged 10 - 17 and run by the SBA. It goes for 6 weeks and participants receive specialised individual training that time does not allow for in domestic training.

The SBA run many camps and programs throughout the year including the school holidays. These camps are fantastic for the players to learn new skills and fine tune techniques. They are always a lot of fun and a great way to meet new friends.

Domestic Teams in tournaments - we have a few teams each year that participate in tournaments around the state. Teams have played in Bendigo, Ballarat, Castlemaine and Eltham.
More info: The club will make contact with players and coaches thoughout the year to determine if we can field a team.
BVC Development Pathways. Players can try out and be selected for country academy's and development squads. This is the pathway to aim for to play for Vic Country, be part of a State Performance Program or be a part of the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup. You must attend try outs and be selected for these squads/teams.
