The Inverell Saints continued their winning way to the 2016 Tamworth AFL season after demolishing the Narrabri Eagles by 202 points at Varley Oval on Saturday.
Led by Mike Gould with nine goals and a defensive effort that held firm for most of the afternoon, the Saints took apart the visitors to run out winners 31.30.216 to 2.2.14.
The game was set up in the first half with the home side booting fifteen unanswered goals to go into the main break with a 103 point lead.
The pleasing point for coach Dick Gleeson is his chargers continued their dominance in the second half, and apart from missing some easy shots at goal, ran riot over a tiring Eagles outfit.
Such was the dominance of the Saints performance, the Eagles kicked their only two goals of the game during the final term.
Captain Sam Kimmince was best afield after stopping numerous Eagles attacks and was well assisted by Beau Cole & Adrian Cox who provided plenty of run out of the backline.
Jake Cannon again impressed with his run on the wing while first year player Troy Hill again showed his value to the team by presenting himself as a leading target around the centre.
The win is a huge confidence booster for the Saints as they now prepare for the Gunnedah Bulldogs at Varley Oval this Saturday.
