Leichhardt Juniors began in 1967 as Leichhardt Coaching Class. The Club only fielded teams up to 12 years of age. At this time, all junior football was played on Saturdays with Senior grades playing on Sunday. Most of the Coaching Class players came from Glebe, Annandale and Leichhardt.

In 1974, Leichhardt Coaching Class changed its name to Leichhardt Juniors and adopted the Tiger as the emblem of the Club. The first jumper was black with two gold Vs. The early 1980's witnessed a radical change to the jumper. Firstly, the V-neck was worn with no collar and short-sleeved football jumpers were introduced by Juniors.

In the early 90's came the Fijians. They fielded an A grade side that consisted mostly of Fijians with an Italian hooker and a few Australians. They were a spectator's delight but a coach's nightmare. Guildford Rugby League Metropolitan Cup Club heard about the side. Their selectors came to Birchgrove to watch and signed up seven. They then went on to win the Metropolitan Cup.

In 1997 Juniors created history winning six Grand Finals at Leichhardt Oval. This tremendous effort seriously depleted the Club's coffers as it is Juniors Policy to award trophies as well as Premiership Jackets to the winning teams. It took some time to get the Club back into the Black. In 1999 Juniors had another very successful year reaching 8 grand finals. Three premierships added to the list of over 60 premiership wins the Club has achieved over the years.

2003 Under 6 Team went on to be undefeated in nearly 100 mini league games
