Howdy Zebra Fans,
Welcome to the first edition of ZEBMAIL!!!
THIS WEEK AROUND THE CLUB Finally the season is upon us. This Sunday the mighty Sandringham Zebras kick off the 2006 Premiership campaign with a match against arch rivals Port Melbourne. In what is traditionally one of the harder fought matches each year, Sandy and Port will be showcasing new recruits and putting to use all the hard work done over pre season. Round 1 is always exciting and this week will be no different.
Adding to the excitement of round 1 is the unfurling of our Premiership Flag for the second year in a row. Always a proud moment for the club and one that will certainly inspire the players and set the scene for a great day of footy at Trevor Barker Beach Oval. The unfurling of the flag will take place on the Social Club balcony at around 1:50pm - just before the start of the seniors match.
The honour of unfurling the 2005 Premiership Flag in front of the Zebra army this Sunday has been awarded to Robert Merola - Managing Director of our major sponsor, SEW Eurodrive. Robert and SEW have been a major partner of the Sandringham Football Club for 10 years and the honour of unfurling the flag is fitting as Robert and SEW have helped create the winning environment that has secured 4 Premierships during that time.
