It’s always a great contest when we play Phillip Island, and thanks again to the PI girls for another great game. We took the wet and cold conditions of our last encounter, and raised it. Despite the chill and the hail, it was a great game of netball, and for IK a really even team performance, with all players contributing to a solid win. Great to see the girls working as a unit, it’s all coming together at the right end of the season. Thanks to our buddies for the day, the U13s. We all appreciated your support and your goody bags. Thank you. With such an even team performance, it was tough to pick our best, so thanks also to the 13s for helping with the awards this week, which went to Kelsey and Janelle. Well done all. Let’s continue the fantastic team work this week. GO IK

In what could only be described as arctic conditions we came away with a win but it wasn’t always pretty! The game was even stopped for hail, but that’s okay because “WE LOVE NETBALL”!!! Katherine was awesome in goals in very tough goaling conditions and Crowy had a good consistent game in defence! Our support crew on the bench was a bit light on with Liz, Jess and Ez away for the weekend, it was just left up to the birthday girl to manage on her own! With the assistance of Bones of course! We look forward to having you all back this week, we missed you all! Special thanks to our under 11 buddies for cheering us on! Let’s go out strong today against Fish Creek and then enjoy some shenanigans at Liz’s 40th! Happy birthday to one of our favs!

Inverloch came out and applied strong defensive pressure down the court, resulting in a number of turn overs, which allowed us to get a good score on the board by the end of the first quarter. The goalers worked well together, with Alli Hayes stepping up and moving a lot in the ring, while Claire Wylie shot beautifully from a range of distances. Inverloch supported each other with a lot of players in positions they don't always play and continued to hold their lead against Phillip Island who played well and were competitive. We wish them the best of luck with their remaining games for the season

Both teams came out firing as 3rd place IK took on 4th place Phillip Island with only a goal separating the teams at the 1st break. In the second quarter IK failed to convert their chances going in at half time 21-12 down. In the second half a number of key positional changes resulted in IK closing the gap to within a goal. Despite a spirited effort IK were unable to edge ahead ultimately falling short by 5 goals.

It was a game that was lacking any form of brilliance or pizzazz this could have been due to the freezing conditions which is becoming a trend when we play Phillip Island. The Phillip Island girls really took it upto us. It was goal for goal for the first part of the first quarter. Our defenders were asked to really put what we have been practicing at training onto the court. Thank you to Megan Reid who came to training to do some work with the girls last week. It was noticeable by the end of the game that the girls are stating to become well rounded players no matter what position they are asked to play. Our centre court girls are driving hard and enabling the ball to travel down the court effortlessly. Our Goalers are continuing with great timing and starting to play for each other. Thank you to the B grade girls for coming and supporting us on our Buddy day. Welcome back to Sophie Bolam and Xanthe Reed it was great to see you both back on the court and in the new dresses. Team work makes the dream work.

The girls played well today during wet and windy conditions. There was some great movement of the ball down the court. The girls adjusted well to a tall team. It was great to have C grade encouraging the girls as part of buddy day, then to have the girls watch and learn more from B grade.
