On Sunday afternoon, our under 13’s, 15’s, 17’s and their families gathered in our club rooms for the 2019 Junior presentation day. It was a great opportunity for reflection and most importantly celebration, for what has been a highly successful year for junior football at the club.
An important take-away from the day came from Greg Hughes, coach of the under 13’s Blue’s. Hughes explained that this season the team had developed a saying which they repeated consistently;
“No matter where you go, no matter what you do, you belong with Portarlington blue”
We are a club that is built on community, inclusivity and support, this message perfectly reinforces those values. It’s important that our members, particularly our junior players know that they will always have a home at the club.
As a community we were able to celebrate the season’s achievements, the full list of award recipients is;

Thank you
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the hardworking volunteers, without you this would simply not be possible
In particular, we’d like to thank;
Fiona Underwood (Junior Director), Kellie Aquilina (Competitive Age Co-ordinator), and the junior coaches; Jason Theilemann, Matthew Gorski, Caleb Ryan, Greg Hughes.
It also wouldn’t have been possible without our Team Managers! Megan & Brett Payne, Georgia & Ross Labbett, Kylie Sobra and Andrew Aquilina.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped out with running, oranges, water, goal umpiring and time-keeping.
We are so proud of our Juniors and can't wait to see what they achieve next season!
