My son and this 12 yr old boy began playing Footy together for the st clair comets when they were 6. They are best mates and have spent most weekends together over the past 2--3 years. They have become Family.

Back in July Ziad was playing footy in front of me and after a kick off he and 2 older kids all raced to ground the ball. Ziad won but the older 2 landed on him and he was hurt. After everyone checked him over he sat with me and i knew it was more because i have seen this kid play with all types of injuries and never just sit.

His Mum came and the Dr said he had dislocated his collar bone and popped it back, which he has done before, but it had pinched a nerve, his migraine was put down to the pain. The next day however he couldnt handle the migraine and they went back, the Dr sent them for an emergency CT scan and less than an hr later they were at the childrens hospital learning he had a Brain Tumor. This was immediately declared inoperable, but manageable to a degree.

That was July this year. During this time between surgeries he was selected for the Cubs Trial squads, he was ready to trial for the nepean oz tag State cup team, he was determined to keep going and not let this tumor beat him.

Last week after 2 surgeries to alleviate the tumors secondary life threatening symptoms, he has weakened facial muscles, double vision, he has lost all sensation diwn the right side of his body from head to toe and is emotionally disconnected to his sensory reaction, these effects are permanent.

Ziads parents were told that within 12 months Ziad will be completely paralised, his loss of sensation is the start and death would be within 5 years, nothing can be done to avoid that but all steps to avoid pain would be taken. As they work in teams at the hospital  and consult other Surgeons they agreed they are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd opinion and told them no Dr in this country will do anything more.

I knew of Dr Teo through a friend who had similar with her son, we helped her  raise  the funds in 2014, his family offered to pay for Ziad to get a 2nd opinion from Dr Teo and he said he can do it. As Dr Teo has to hire surgical equipment, the operating theatre, and pay for the patient to recover in Hospital it is very expensive. $100,000. But its the only chance he has.

Each day he is losing just a little more of himself. So far we have Raised $60K. I know Ziad will need alot of medical things after and until he has surgery we have no idea what exactly he will need, so although this 100k is the most important thing right now, all help beyond will be equally appreciated
