CRL Junior Representative Gate Takings to Assist Tathra Appeal
Country Rugby League will donate all gate takings from this weekend’s Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cup matches to the official Mayoral Appeal Fund for the Tathra bushfire victims and recovery efforts.
The Tathra Sea Eagles, and Far South Coast community, are currently assessing the damage caused by the catastrophic bush-fires which have destroyed at least 69 homes and damaged a further 39 properties to date.
Country Rugby League CEO Terry Quinn said the donations are just the beginning of the assistance the town and club may require in the coming months.
“Our thoughts are with the Tathra community during this incredibly difficult time,” said Quinn.
“We’ve been in contact with the Tathra Rugby League Club as they continue to assess any damages caused to their facilities and equipment and will continue to work with them and offer our support to assist in any way we can to get them back on their feet.
“The Mayoral Appeal Fund has been set-up to consolidate all fundraising efforts for the community and the gate takings from this weekend’s Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cup matches is just the first step in assistance that we can provide the people of Tathra.”
This weekend’s Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cup matches will take place on Saturday and be played in Wingham, Grafton, Leeton, Goulburn and Camden.
Donations to the Mayoral Appeal fund fund can be made by both bank transfer and credit card.
