Robertson Spuds to take part in Rotterdam 9s Rugby League Tournament

THE Robertson Spuds are set to represent the Highlands on the world stage.
The Spuds have sent 17 current and past players to compete at the Rotterdam 9s Rugby League Tournament.
The event will be held today, May 7 in the Netherlands.
The Robertson players arrived in London this week before heading to Rotterdam on Wednesday.
Spuds coach Aaron de Jager said it would be a big event.
“There are eight teams in the comp and it’s a club tournament,” he said.
The event means the Spuds will defer today's scheduled Group 6 second division match against the Picton Magpies.
The Spuds were set to host the Magpies at Robertson Showground.
Robertson experienced its first defeat for 2016 last Sunday.
The Spuds fell 18-16 to the Narellan Jets at Narellan.
The result signalled Robertson's first loss in the Group 6 second division competition.
De Jager said it was a disappointing performance.
"We dropped a lot of ball and we were a bit scratchy," he said.
"It was not our best performance, but Narellan is the defending champion and is a strong club."
