Men of League look to form sub-committee in Highlands

A NEW committee is being formed to promote rugby league in the Highlands.

The Macarthur/Southern Highlands Men of League Kick Off Club held a function on Saturday at the Moss Vale Services Club.

The event was held with the aim of forming a Men of League sub-committee for the Highlands.

Several local Group 6 rugby league identities attended the function on Saturday.

Bruce Noble Senior, Peter Quinn, Barry Andrews and John Cole lent their support.

Gus Miller was unable to attend as he was busy working on his farm on Saturday.

Unfortunately, attendance numbers were slightly disappointing on Saturday.

However, Macarthur/Southern Highlands Men of League president Ron McEntee said he was upbeat about the group's future.

"It was a chance to get together to form a sub-committee to organise rugby league activities in the Southern Highlands," he said.

"There was a steady turnout of numbers today.

"But I think it will be positive and it was a good start."

The Men of League Foundation provides assistance and support to members of the rugby league community.

Assistance can range from counseling through to grants and medical operations support.
