Bar TV jump on board Illawarra Coal League
Bar TV Sports will commence providing broadcast quality recording of all matches at Illawarra Coal League venues, which will provide the league and clubs with many benefits.
Director of Illawarra Rugby League, Bob Millward OAM, has welcomed the arrival of this exciting new initiative. “We learned of the Bar TV Sports relationship with Newcastle Rugby League late last year, and to be quite honest we were probably envious. To have Bar TV Sports partner with the Illawarra District Rugby League enables the Illawarra Coal League competition and clubs to enjoy greater reach and exposure than ever before.”
Mr Millward also acknowledged the role that local leagues clubs have played in funding this project. “I wish to recognise the wonderful gesture by the Collegians, Wests Illawarra Leagues, and Dapto Leagues Clubs who have jointly offered to fund this exciting project for the benefit of all stakeholders in the Illawarra Coal League as an initial trial.”
The partnership with Bar TV Sports will provide recording of matches in all grades at all venues, provide club coaches and match officials with a full copy of the match recording on game day which is a significant coaching and development resource for players and referees. The league will be provided with a copy which will ensure match review and judiciary procedures can be carried out without relying on match reports and ensure natural justice is better served for all parties.
Bar TV Sports will also provide edited highlights packages of all Illawarra Coal League matches which will be uploaded to Facebook on Bar TV Sports and Illawarra Coal League pages, and full match recordings will be available on the Bar TV YouTube channel. Licensed clubs and hotels aligned with clubs in the Illawarra Coal League will be able to take advantage of the Bar TV coverage with access to full match footage which can be replayed at the venues.
“Leagues clubs and hotels in Newcastle have assisted a surge in interest in the local competition and enjoyed increased patronage by showing the matches at their venues”, added Mr Millward. We are also excited about the opportunity to conduct a live stream of the Illawarra Coal League grand final, which will include multiple camera coverage and commentary.”
Bar TV will commence coverage of Illawarra Coal League matches when Dapto host Collegians on Friday 1 August at Dapto Showground. Coverage will then extend through to the Illawarra Coal League grand finals on Sunday 7 September with a live stream, and will also include coverage of grand finals on Saturday 30 August of the Illawarra Coal Shield, Women in the Army Illawarra League, and the under 17 competition.
