NRL Head Office staff along with Game Development staff, had the opportunity to visit the local Junior League clubs over the weekend and show their gratitude for all that the Junior League volunteers do for the game of Rugby League.

Staff were able to help out with a variety of different jobs at the grounds over the weekend, with all grounds thankfully open after recent rain forcing lots of ground closures. From cooking sausages on the BBQ, serving in the canteen, time keeping and ground managing, it was a fantastic experience for the NRL staff to be able to be involved and help out where they could.

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg perhaps had the most variety of roles on the Saturday whilst he was at Akuna Oval, hosted by the Menai Roosters. Todd started the day warming up from the cold morning as touch judge for the womens NRL touch football game. He then went on to be ground Manager for the U7's game and continued his morning giving the U11's a team talk prior to their game. He even had a request to tie up shoelaces for one player in the U7's which came with a very strict command to tie them "really tight".

Back to the Juniors is a wonderful initiative and really gives staff an opportunity to thank our amazing volunteers who are out there every week helping our game grow. All NRL staff had a fantastic time meeting the volunteers, helping out where they could and watching the Junior League players play some great footy!
