Panthers celebrate proud season
This year’s season for the Middlemount Panthers was one just short of a fairy tale.
The club was only days away from becoming a team that was an integral part of the Central Highlands competition.
An emotional Facebook post from proud clubman Ryan Hansell after the Nathan ‘Shorty’ Moffatt Memorial game tore at the heartstrings for many, strengthening the Panther pride to form a team ready for the upcoming season.
The club was dominant through the season, challenging the top spot on the ladder and six months later, booked themselves a spot in the big dance.
The club came ‘oh so’ close to delivering a premiership to complete the fairy tale season but regardless of the results, the club should be very proud of defying the economic challenges to remain the feared team in the mighty blue and yellow.
On Saturday night, the club celebrated the 2016 season at the annual presentation night and focused on the goals that were proudly achieved this season.
The Panthers are looking forward to another great year in 2017 with this year’s narrow loss in the big dance a big motivator to lift the trophy at the end of next season.
