Bowls Day raises over $5,000 for Men of League

Over 16 teams showcased their inner Jack Simpson like talent at the 2nd annual Men of League Charity Bowls Day in Emerald on Saturday February 20.
The day, hosted by the Central Highlands Men of League committee, also saw Queensland Men of League State Manager Frank Barrett and Men of League Welfare Manager Ben Ross try their hand at Lawn Bowls whilst visiting Emerald for the occasion.
Central Highlands Men of League Committee President Mick Roach said the day was a huge success with over $5,000 raised for the Men of League.
“Once again, the Central Highlands community have made the Charity Bowls Day a huge success with over 16 teams taking part in this year’s event” Roach said.
“I’m proud to announce that we’ve raised $5,197.25 for the Men of League which is a terrific achievement. Thanks to everyone for their much appreciated support on the day.”
The CH MOL committee would like to thank CMF Rural for sponsoring the day as well as the Emerald Bowls Club for hosting the day and are looking forward to the 2017 Charity Bowls Day.
The CH MOL committee have a few projects coming up in the next few months around the Central Highlands to further support the strong Rugby League community. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
