NO ACTION OVER ELWIN REPORT
NO ACTION will be taken over Temora halfback Sam Elwin’s involvement in Sunday’s dramatic 31-30 victory over Albury at Greenfield Park.
Elwin was replaced after allegedly taking a knock to the head, but later returned to the field – and ultimately kicked the winning field goal for the Dragons..
Under new CRL protocols, any player that is ruled to have been concussed or sustained a head or neck injury in a game is required to gain a medical clearance before playing again.
Group Nine operations manager Peter Ryan reported on Tuesday that the Match Review Committee had investigated the incident and decided there was no breach of CRL rules.
Ryan said evidence was taken from various parties, including the Temora trainer, before the Match Review Committee made the judgement.
Elwin is expected to play for Temora against Tumut in a vital game at Nixon Park on Sunday..
