Show your commitment to Mouthguards

The Australian Dental Association (ADA) is calling on sports clubs across Australia to pledge their commitment to mouthguards.

The ADA has updated its website with new information sheets on why it’s important to wear a custom-fitted mouthguard while playing contact sports and first aid tips on managing an injury to a tooth.

Additionally, the Mouthguard Awareness website now features a range of activity sheets that might be suited to your junior members.

Be sure to direct your members, players and parents to for further information about mouthguards and to download information and activity sheets from the website.

The ADA would also like to offer a website button (please see attached) which your club/association can use on its website or in e-newsletters to direct members to the Mouthguard Awareness website for further information.

The ADA is also inviting sports clubs nationwide to demonstrate they are Committed to Mouthguards for their chance to win one of three $1000 grants.

Sports clubs can enter the Committed to Mouthguards competition by visiting the ADA’s Mouthguard Awareness website. By uploading a photo that demonstrates your sports club’s commitment to mouthguards and describing in 25 words or less how your members protect their teeth, your club will have the chance to win a $1000 grant, which can be put towards new sporting equipment and facilities.

Entries for the ADA’s Committed to Mouthguards competition close on 15 May 2012.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
