2017 NRL Victoria Grand Final Day Recap

Grand Final Day for NRL Victoria has come and gone as many witnessed scintillating football played across the whole day at Fregon Reserve.

With windy and overcast conditions, many rose to the occasion in reaching the end goal for their 2017 season – Premiers.

This year was one of the most successful in NRL Victoria history, with 12 different clubs making appearances on Grand Final day and having 8 different clubs being victors.

Truganina Rabbitohs (women’s) and Sunshine Cowboys (U13s) both enjoyed first time premiership success for their clubs having only been in the NRL Victoria as clubs in past 3 and 2 years respectively.

Werribee Bears announced their dominance with four teams in various Grand Finals and all coming away victorious, including their back-to-back victory in the NRL Victoria First Grade competition.

The day also witnessed saw some herculean efforts, including the Doveton’s Women’s First Grade and Tag teams being composed of many of the same players, with many of the players putting in strong efforts across two full games, back-to-back.
