Finals Series Tasmanian Rugby League

The Tasmanian Rugby League finals series begins this Saturday with two huge matchups.

The South Hobart Storm face the Hobart Tigers at University Oval at 3 pm in what should be the match of the season.

The Tigers have fallen away during the second half of the season and Coach, Sunia Maafu, will be depending on game breakers such as Fale Atileo and Sid Fielea to break down the Storm resistance in a game which features two solid packs and two sparkling backlines....

Storm Coach, Mick Hunt, will have a few tricks up his sleeve, and will be relying on Shaun Kober, David Brennan and TK Tamaariki- Amosa to expose gaps in the Tigers defence.

Hunt has done an amazing job with a Club that failed to win a match in its previous two seasons, but is now considered premiership favourites.

The winner of this game goes straight through to the Grand Final, and both Clubs will desperate for bragging rights in what should be a tight contest.

The North West Coast Titans face the Northern Warriors in the elimination final at Meecroft Park in Devonport at 2.30. The Titans have had a solid first season, but face a Warriors team coming off a stunning win over the Tigers last week.

Warriors' coach Nate Wells is not getting carried away with last weekend’s win stating ‘We're entering the game with some good momentum from last week however we're not getting ahead of ourselves as we know the Titans will be a strong side at home. We'll be looking to Sam Rice and Michael Halifonua to continue their strong form from recent rounds.’

The Titans will be relying on Dayne Apiti and Brett Bentley to take on the massive Warriors forwards in a game that is do or die for both Clubs.
