2015 NRL Development Cup Sunshine Coast

It was a great day for Rugby League and both Banksia State School and Coolum State School really turned up in numbers to support their teams in the NRL Development Final on the Sunshine Coast.

Sunshine Coast Development Cup Final saw two battles take place at Coolum JRL grounds with Banksia Beach State School up against last year’s Sunshine Coast Development cup winners and home side Coolum State School.  On the field the game was a credit to both schools with some great attacking play stopped by incredible defence for this age group. Coolum scored with 2 minutes to go in the first half out wide , the conversion was successful and Coolum led 6 -0 at halftime . The game went from end to end with neither side able to score ,Banksia Beach came out firing and scored early to make it 6-4 the game then was a tight battle but constant  pressure from Banksia Beach seaw them run in three late tries.

Off the field the battle was between the Banksia Beach Marching Band and the Coolum Colts cheerleaders , again the game was played in great spirit and congratulations to both schools for putting on what was a great spectacle for school sport and Rugby league.
