Team FIJI, Vodafone & FASANOC Launches Online Donation Portal

Vodafone Fiji has come up with a first for Fiji by launching a donation portal that will allow Fijians all over the world to get behind the country's largest contingent to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Vodafone Fiji By Director Finance Elenoa Buikoto said they were proud to support initiatives by FASANOC in taking Team Fiji to Rio 2016 Olympics this year.

"The online donation portal has been developed for passionate followers of Team Fiji from across the world to make donations towards the Team’s prep for their Road to Rio," said Ms Buikoto.

"This user- friendly medium will allow the die-hard supporters to donate towards the team."

She said anyone with a Credit Card can log in, register and donate. Donations made will also be visible on the portal for a transparent operation.

The first contribution came from Lorraine Raiwalui - Suka the chairperson for Fiji’s 8th Man – Europe, an organisation that supports all sports in Fiji.

Mrs Suka donated one hundred pounds equivalent to $300 Fijian.

"It is with great pleasure that I be the first Fijian abroad to show my support with this very small donation to kick start your financial campaign to Rio," she said.

Mrs Suka said the best way for Fijians and supporters of Team Fiji overseas is to log on to this online portal where all donations go to Team Fiji to help them prepare as best they can for Rio 2016.

"Our sons and daughters need your support as they fly that Noble Banner Blue high at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games."

Meanwhile Deputy Chef de Mission Wayne O'Connor thank Vodafone FIJI for their continued and unwavering support of Team Fiji to the Rio 2016 Olympics.

He also thanked Lorraine Raiwalui-Suka for the the first personal contribution.

"Like many Kaiviti abroad, Lorraine is passionate about Fiji Sports, as evidenced in the launching of this Vodafone/Team Fiji portal," Mr O'Connor said.

"I encourage all our Fijian families and passionate supporters of Fiji Sports to contribute through this portal.

"Our athletes to the Olympics welcome your proactive support for their greatest performance ever on the greatest world stage of sports."
