British High Commission Representative confirms for Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) Glasgow 2014 in Tonga

According to Takitoa Taumoepeau, Secretary General of TASANOC, the preparation has been very warm and encouraging with local businesses joining the celebration by taking part on the final rotation from Alonga Centre to the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday 11th December.

He added that EM Jones and Jones Industries, ANZ Bank, Stephenson Associates to name a few. In addition, the Office of the Australian High Commission and New Zealand High Commission had both confirmed their participation as well as the Japanese Embassy.

 Takitoa commented that the QBR sub-committee is finalizing the program and also invite all the National Sports Federation to take part and confirm their respective baton bearer by end of this week. In the meantime, the sub-committee is also welcoming any local businesses who may wish to take part in the last leg in Nuku’alofa.

 The Glasgow 2014 QBR team is expected to arrive in Tonga on Monday 9th and depart on Thursday 12th December to Niue.
