New President and new leadership initiative

Delegates from 17 National Federations (NF’s) and members of the Executive Committee attended the first session (Day 1) of the NOC workshop in its effort to establish its Strategic Plan. According to Takitoa, the initiative was well received by members as “it was echoed during the General Assembly that they wished to have more input and better communication between the NOC and its members (NF’s)”.

Takitoa added, “the presence of the President, Lady Tu’ivakano and members of the Executive Committee demonstrated her leadership to members that she wants a new beginning, cooperation and understanding between the NOC and its stakeholders”.

In her welcoming remarks, Lady Tu’ivakano thanked the delegates from the 17 NF’s for taking time to attend and as an organization, we need a plan and this is the beginning of our working together towards achieving our Strategic Plan for 2013-2020. Mr Lennie Niit, Senior Vice President in his opening remark encouraged delegates to cooperate and forthcoming in our deliberation so that it will help us in shaping our plan.

The second session (Day 2) will be held on 2nd March with a final retreat and write up to be decided later.
