Tonga 2019 Pacific Games Bid Team arrived safely to Wallis
Led by His Royal Highness Prince Ata who arrived from Sydney with Leonaitasi Le’ota and Paea Wolfgram, a former Olympian and athlete. Other members of the team arrived from Auckland and they were Lord Vaea, Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs (MIA) and Sports, Lord Tevita Tupou, President of Tonga NOC/PGA, Takitoa Taumoepeau, Secretary General, Lopeti Senituli, CEO of MIA & Sports. Mike Bloomfield, Treasurer of NOC/PGA, Ngalu Fusimalohi, Senior Vice-President of NOC/PGA and Faivamalie, a Matapule.
Arriving to Wallis they were met by the Chief of the island and the Ouvea people as well as Mrs Tupou Pasikala-Fiu, the French Honorary Consul for Tonga but she is there on an exchange teaching program between Tonga and Wallis. Takitoa said that it was very warming the reception they received from the Ouvea people and the kainga.
Team Tonga is staying at the LOMIPEAU hotel which hosted and received His late Majesty King George V and contact is (+681) 722021. All members of the team are fine and finalizing a few things for the General Assembly where they will do the final presentation on Friday.
