Amini Fonua, 100m mens breaststroke swimmer

Tongan athlete, Amini Fonua competed in the mens 100m breaststroke on Saturday the 28th of July 2012. The 22 year old had a fantastic race placing first in his heat with a time of 1.03.65 minutes. This time put him 1.61 seconds in front of the second place getter in his heat. Unfortunately he did not qualify for the semi-finals.

Amini Fonua is Tonga's first ever olympic athlete to compete in a swimming event. Mr Fonua also was the flag bearer at the 2012 Olympic parade of nations.
