Palau holds Annual General Meeting

Palau National Olympic Committee held its Annual General Meeting at the Palau Pacific Resort on Thursday, 10th November 2011.

All Fourteen National Sports Federations and the Four Commissions convened at Pacific Room in the Palau Pacific Resort to report on the year's activities as well as for the upcoming year.  Palau NOC organized a slightly different meeting by including various local and government agencies/offices to inform the attendees of their own programs and services offered to other NGO's.  This year's guest presenters included Darin de Leon from Palau Visitor's Authority; Gustav Aitaro from the Bureau of Foreign Affairs; Philomena Temengil and Lorraine Rivera from the local NCD/HIV Office and Judy Otto from the Coalition for a Tobacco Free Palau. In recent years, Palau NOC has formed partnerships with these agencies to further promote sports in the island and will continue to work with them on future programs and projects.

The meeting was a success with twelve out of the fourteen sports federations presenting their annual reports.  As a show of respect to one of our Board Members who recently passed away, the meeting began with a moment of silence for Steven Patris.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
