7 September - BRONZE FOR PALAU BASEBALL

Playing at their best today, Team Palau Baseball played their game against CNMI and took the Bronze Medal (8-0). CNMI and Guam will play for Gold and Silver Tomorrow.

The Palau Athletics Team competed in the 200m and 400m sprints. Ruby Joy Gabriel clocked 29.02 in the 200m women and Rodman Teltull clocked 23.22 while John Stills clocked 23.45. in the men’s 200m event. In the event of Weightlifting, our Palau lifter Maverick Faustino competed today in his weight class of 94kg where he snatched 95kg, clean & jerk 120 total of 215 in his event, ranking 5th place.

Beach Volleyball Men played against American Samoa to two sets only with scores 16/21 and 13/21 American Samoa. The Women’s Team won their game against the Cook Island Team with scores 19/21 and 12/21 Palau. The Beach Volleyball teams will continue their games tomorrow and ranking games in Ouvea, a 30minute plane ride from Noumea. They will leave on Friday and return on Saturday after the Beach Volleyball Finals.

Athletics Team will have field and relay events on Thursday and Friday. Team Palau will arrive home on Sunday night, September 11th. The medal standing for Team Palau is 1 Silver and 2 Bronze for Weightlifting achieved by Stevick Patris in his 63kg weight class and Baseball achieving the Bronze Medal at today’s game.
