The Niue Island Sports Association National Olympic Committee held its Council Meeting at Matavai. It was an opportunity for the President, Secretary General and sports codes to present their reports on past achievements and developments including future goals.

It was also time to submit names for election into the Executive Committee but there were none submitted. This meant that all existing positions within the Executive remained with each individual and no changes.

One of the most important topics was the change of the name of the sporting body from Niue Island Sports National Olympic Committee (NISANOC) to Niue Island Sports Commonwealth Games Association (NISCGA).  The constitution was amended to reflect the change and this was done as Niue is not a Olympic member and only a Commonwealth Games member.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
