2017 KNOC Annual General Assembly

On the 25th of February 2017 the Kiribati National Olympic Committee conducted its annual Annual General Assembly at the USP Conference Room at the USP Kiribati Campus. 15 of the 17 National Federation attended the meeting.

The AGA discussed matters ranging from Annual reports to outlines of budgets for 2017 and the 2016 Audited Accounts which was prepared bu new Auditing firm Eterika and Associates. The main agenda item that generated alot of excitement and was also the last matter on the program was the KNOC Executive Board elections.

As outlined in the KNOC Constitution a staggered approach to elections is taken and as such the terms of the President and the Treasurer of the organisation are now due.

For the position of Treasurer there was only one nomination and that was for Mr Ted Isopo representing the sport of Badminton. Since there was only one nomination he was confirmed with unaimous support.

For the position of President there were three nominations Mr. David Collins from Basketball, Mr Martin Tofinga from Football and Mr Nicholas McDermott from Taekwondo. After the first round of elections Mr David Collins won the votes and so will continue as President of KNOC for a second term.
