CISNOC Celebrates 30 Years

Cook Islands Sports & National Olympic Committee celebrates 30 years of being a member of the International Olympic Committee. 1960 saw the establishment and formation of the Cook Islands Sports Association Inc. and in 1987 became a member of the IOC, was which was known as Cook Islands Sports & Olympic Association (CISOA), 2002 became Cook Islands Sports & National Olympic Committee (CISNOC).more

Dame Valerie Adams guest-speaker at National Sports Awards

Cook Islands Sports & National Olympic Committee are honoured to host Dame Valerie Adams at this year National Sports Awards. Dame Valerie is a frequent traveller to the Cook Islands, and they consisted her as a local. The Sports Awards will be focusing on the achievements of Cook Islands athletes and officials throughout 2016.more

2017 Beach Games a success....

The inaugural week-long Beach Games got underway on Monday 13th February and ran through to Saturday 18th February at the National Beach Volleyball Courts in Nikao. 3 sports made the first Beach Games a success, with Handball, Touch and Volleyball and for next years games, we will see more sports participate and be involved, as Cook Islands prepares for the 2019 ANOC World Beach Games.more

As part of the Kia Orana Festival organised through Cook Islands Tourism, CISNOC organised with a few of the National Federations to host a Beach Games event, with Beach Handball, Beach Touch and Beach Volleyball. Sports Administration Course a success

After a week long journey to the beautiful island of Aitutaki, the Sports Administration workshop was a success for the Aitutaki Sports Association and Sports codes. It was a real eye opener especially for the new committee members on each organisation and the main topics re-discussed were on the draws and formats, an area where the participants needed assistance with.more

CISNOC Staff along with the President and Secretary General of the Cook Islands CGA are currently in a database workshop currently lectured by the Development Director of the Commonwealth Games Federation, Richard de Groen. The workshop is to help our CGA better organise and collate data information of the various team members to Games and keeping a legacy of information for the organisation.more

2017 Sports Administration Course - Aitutaki

As part of the Sports Development Unit initiatives for 2017, the Sports Manager of CISNOC, Siniva Marsters will be conducting a Sports Administration Course on the island of Aitutaki from the 18th - 23rd January 2017. Main topics to be discussed will include: Introduction to CISNOC, Strategic Planning, Organisations and their roles, draws and formats and Anti Doping.more

Oceania athletes to join 8th AWG - Sapporo 2017

Kuwait, October 30, 2016: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is delighted to confirm that athletes from the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) will take part in the OCA’s 8th Asian Winter Games in Sapporo, Japan, next February.more

New Administration Officer for CISNOC

Another recent appointment for CISNOC is Administration Officer, Melanie Wilson. From the code of Athletics, Melanie Wilson has experience and knowledge in Administration after hosting a successful and regional event for Athletics in 2014. New CGA Administration Officer for CISNOC

CISNOC has currently employed a new person that will take over the affairs of the Commonwealth Games Association from this year to 2018. Augustine Kopa, currently graduated from ICECP Programme from the sport of Aquatics, has been appointed as the CGA Administration Officer for the Cook Islands CGA.more

Sports leaders from 71 Commonwealth nations and territories have started arriving today in Edmonton, Canada, for the Annual Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) General Assembly. The 2016 General Assembly, takes place from 5-7 October 2016 at the city’s Chateau Lacombe Hotel. Canoe Slalom first up for the Cooks
