Team Fiji Chef De Mission Vacancies

FASANOC is looking for three dynamic volunteer Chefs de Mission to oversee Team Fiji's preparation and participation in the: 

  • YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES, BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA, 6 – 18 October, 2018.

Potential sports:   Athletics, Badminton, Hockey, Karate, Rugby 7s, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Weightlifting. 

  • XVI PACIFIC GAMES, APIA, SAMOA, 8 - 20th July, 2019.

Potential sports:   Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball 3X3, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Golf, Judo, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Powerlifting, Rugby 7s, Rugby League 9s, Softball, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Touch Rugby, Triathlon, Va’a, Volleyball – Beach/Indoor, Weightlifting. 

  • XXXII OLYMPIC GAMES, TOKYO, 24 JULY - 09 AUGUST 2020

Potential sports:   Archery, Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Judo, Rugby 7s, Sailing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis and Weightlifting.

The objective of the Chef de Mission role is to ensure that Team Fiji to each of the Games is presented with all the opportunities and the support services it needs to produce medal winning performances and bring glory to our nation Fiji. 

The position represents a unique, challenging opportunity for the right person. The successful candidate will have significant experience in similar positions, strong motivational skills, high-level management skills and excellent communication skills.  Strong leadership is mandatory and experience in sporting team management roles and previous involvement with Team Fiji will be an advantage. 

The position is entirely voluntary, but is supported by full time staff.  The reward is the enormous satisfaction gained from working with the sporting fraternity to bring about outstanding performances from our athletes that will do Fiji proud in the regional and international arena.
