Tennis Fiji Hosts Training

Tennis Fiji hosted a Regional Coaching Course at the Regional Tennis Centre in Lautoka last week that was funded by Olympic Solidarity World Coaching Program.

The course was conducted by ITF Level 3 coach Kawaljeet Singh with 15 participants from Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tuvalu, Kiribati and the Solomon Islands.

The course involved a Coaching Beginner & Intermediate Players Course which was to allow candidates to gain the skills required to introduce new players to tennis through mini-tennis.

The course also allowed coach players to upskill themselves to junior competition level and to promote tennis at a grassroots level.

Participants are usually physical education school teachers, tennis coaches or
officials and included former and current players from throughout the Pacific.

The course ended over the past weekend.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
