Cycling First To Award Fiji Games Medals Today

Cycling Fiji was the first sport to kick off the Fiji Games program today with a Criterium event held at Vuya Road, Veituo. 

Gold Medal Winner of the Women's 10klm (8 laps) was Timaima a young 13 year old in a time of 32:16; with the Men's 15klm (12 laps) Winner, Petero Manoa

Women Open – 8 laps (approx. 10kms)


Gold – Timaima Takape (13) - Lau – 32:16


Silver – Grace Takape (16) – Lau – 32:48


Bronze – Ella Sinclair (18) –Suva – 43:11




Men Open – 12 laps (approx. 15kms)


Gold – Petero Manoa (32) – Macuata – 38:47


Silver – Darcy Keenan (14) – Suva – 39:20


Bronze – Eroni Takape (43) – Lau 39:37

The Criterium race was held at Vuya Road with the Women doing 8 laps for a 10klm race and the Men racing 15klm consisting of 12 laps up and around Vuya Road as a closed circuit event.  The sart/finish line was on Vuya Road outside the Suva Grammar School road entrance. 

Thanks are recorded to Fulton Hogan for the assistance with the road and traffic control ensureing the safery of the cyclists.
