A total of 750 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be handed out to athletes during the three day XV Fiji Games 2017 which start on September 7-10.
Over 1,000 athletes will be competing in 17 sports which include Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Billards and Snooker, Boxing, Cycling, Darts, Golf, Judo, Para Sports, Powerlifting, Squash, Shooting and Table Tennis.
J.R White as a corporate sponsor facilitated the shipment of medals that will be awarded to athletes who will participate in the 2017 Fiji Games.
Most of the sports taking part in the Fiji Games will use the competition as a build up to the upcoming 2017 Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu in December and the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Athletes will use the competition as a platform to prove themselves for selection into their respective sports while others will use it as a form of development to help improve their skills.
A lot of the minor sports in the country will be hoping to generate a lot of interest from the public to help raise the profile of their sport.
Shooting Fiji will be fielding 51 athletes which is the biggest number of shooters they have entered while other sporting federations have yet to submit their total number of athletes and games schedule.
