Guam, Samoa and Tahiti have expressed their interest in hosting the 2019 Pacific Games after the withdrawal of Tonga from hosting.
Pacific Games Council President Vidhya Lakhan said Expressions of Interest for hosting the 2019 Pacific Games ended on the 31st of July, 2017.
"I am pleased to announce that we received three expressions of interest in total," he said.
Mr Lakhan thanked the three members of the Pacific Games Council.
He said all three countries have the right facilities and have experience in hosting the Pacific Games.
"Guam, Samoa and Tahiti have each hosted the games twice and they all have what it takes to organise an event such as the Pacific Games," Mr Lakhan said.
"The PGC Executive board will now evaluate the EOI thoroughly and if necessary visit the countries to evaluate their facilities.
"We will also talk with Sports people and political leaders in each country before selecting a host for the 2019 Pacific Games."
Mr Lakhan said they hope to make an announcement for the new host by the 1st of September, 2017.
