Athletics Fiji President Joseph Rodan Sr is delighted with how the Easter Games progressed especially with the Fiji Championships, Oceania Athletics Championship, World Championships and Pacific Mini Games just around the corner.
Close to 700 athletes turned up for the Easter Games at the ANZ Stadium and took part not only in track events but also field events.
Elite athletes like Albert Miller and Eugene Vollmer used the event to gauge where they stood as athletes before the various upcoming athletics championships.
Mr Rodan said this was an ideal opportunity for athletes and coaches to expose themselves and they will not regret come games day.
"For the athletes taking part in the Coke Games, this will have the advantage because they are getting used to the environment," he said.
Mr Rodan thanked their sponsors Shop N Save for the financial assistance to host the Easter Games.
"These Easter Games provided young athletes the opportunity to compete with some of Fiji's current elite athletes and to continue developing their skills," he said.
Some schools from the islands like Vunisea in Kadavu also took part in the Easter games.
