Table Tennis Celebrating International Day For Sports, Development & Peace

Members of the public were invited to be a part of Fiji Table Tennis celebrations on International Day for Sports, Development and Peace held at Damodar City, Suva.

Special schools were also part of the occasion with the Nausori Special School and Suva Special School making a day of the event.

Fiji Table Tennis President Anthony Ho and Team Fiji Table Tennis reps were also on hand to assist students and members of the public on the sport of Table Tennis.

Paralympian Mere Roden was also part of the day to celebrate the international day.

“Today provided a wonderful chance for members of the public to see, and get a chance to try their hand at, Table Tennis,” said Anthony.

“We are also inclusive of people with disabilities as we also have a student from Nausori Special School who is the youngest para athlete to compete in Table Tennis for Fiji.”

Despite the hot sun, people turned up to take part in the day and were also handed refreshments provided by Powerade.

The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace has been observed by the UN every year since 2014.
