Josaia Voreqe Inducted Into 2017 Hall Of Fame

Josaia Voreqe was born in Korovou and attended the Methodist Boys' School in Toorak where he played regularly for the Senior XV Rugby Team as a fullback.

At the age of 18 he joined the Defence Forces and became a member of the Defence XVs, first at halfback and later at 1st five-eight.

He played great attacking rugby but appeared not to have been properly taught how to tackle.  After a few weeks of coaching and a trial transfer to wing Josaia was selected to play against a visiting Maori's XV Team in 1938.

He played in the 3 tests, scoring in the second of the games.  For more click here.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
