The Minister for Youth & Sports Honourable Mr Laisenia Tuitubou last weekend launched the National 2017 Lottery tickets.
The lottery tickets are one of FASANOC's fundraising projects for Team Fiji is the 2017 FASANOC Lottery.
Mr Tuitubou purchased the first set of Lottery Tickets and called on the nation to throw their support behind Team Fiji.
He said government was supportive of every athlete that would be representing the country in which ever sport.
"Sports has proven to be one of the great mediums of unity as shown when our sevens team defeated the best to become the best in the abbreviated rugby code," Mr Tuitubou said.
Also speaking at the launch where Team Fiji athletes Eugene Vollmer and Naomi Waqanidrola who both spoke on the importance of the Lottery launch.
"Successful stories cannot be relied on raw guts alone," he said.
Eugene relayed the difficulty in getting sponsors to compete at higher levels and that the Lottery Launch would help them as athletes compete on a different level.
FASANOC President Joe Rodan Snr said funds collect would finance the team towards the Mini Pacific Games in Vanuatu in December later this year.
FASANOC is giving all National Federations the opportunity to earn commissions for their National Federation through this fundraising drive.
