Samoa boys take BRONZE

An exciting match as Samoa takes the bronze medal.

During the first quarter, Ionatana Enosa from Samoa scored the first 2 points of the game. The start of the game wasn't very enthusiastic without many fans cheering or supporting. New Caledonia trail behind Samoa but manage to get good fast breaks scoring lay-ups and steals to catch up.

The second quarter the game was very fast pace in score. Samoa maintained a comfortable lead of New Caledonia. At the end of the first half, the score was 41 - 26 Samoa.

The second half started off with Samoa breaking down New Caledonia's defence. A beautiful alley loop was made to Julius Barnes for the slam dunk for Samoa, and the crowd cheered with excitement. Towards the end of the third quarter Samoa was far in the lead 61 - 38.

In the fourth quarter Samoa were playing strong defence. New Caledonia was not able to penetrate offensively. Fabrice Chaliot from New Caledonia was playing well drawing fouls and getting to the line shooting free throws. The game turned for New Caledonia, as they started to take the game in their hands... Four consecutive baskets were made in a row to clinch the game closer towards the end of the fourth quarter. Luckily enough Samoa grabbed a defensive rebound to hold the ball and run the clock down to win the game 85 - 76.
