A whooping win for Fiji women

It was apparent from the beginning that the Fijians had advantage with skill and speed especially with number 11 Mareta Mani scoring the first two points of the game. Towards the end of the first quarter, Fiji was obviously putting the pressure on as number 5 Mikaelar Whippy steals the ball and takes it all the way with an easy layup.
Perhaps it had to do with low energy levels or a poor combination of players because part of the second quarter saw the team in black trying desperately to make a shot even from under the basket, with no success. It wasn't long though before Fiji number 7 Valerie Nainima started taking control of the ball, making steals and intercepts and bring the game to a half time score of PNG 19, Fiji 48.
The Solomons made a lot of errors such as careless passes and shots. Fiji on the other hand were enjoying a somewhat easy win with more intercepts and three pointers. The third quarter saw the score sore for Fiji at 76 to the Solomon's 30.
Fiji showcased their skills and confidence in the last quarter ending the game with a whooping 101 to the Solomon's 45.
