Day 6 - Palau vs. Fiji
Palau explodes in the fourth inning to put away Fiji 15-2 in five innings of play. Fiji still holds fourth place by 1 game over Samoa for the final semifinal position as the tournament winds down. Palau locked up the first position for the semifinals that begin on Tuesday.
Fiji's leadoff hitter, Inoke Niubalavu, opened the game with a double to left as Fiji looked to make some noise. Fiji jumped on top early when the second batter, Apenisa Nawalu, got on base by an error on the shortstop followed by another error on the overthrow back to second leading to an early 2-0 lead for Fiji. Palau's pitcher, Omengkar Magata, then seddled down and shut out Fiji for the following four innings in an impressive preformance.
Palau did not allow Fiji to get comfortable in the lead, scoring 3 runs themselves in the bottom half of the first inning. Rodrick Blanco did his part with an RBI double to left center. Palau added a couple more runs due to poor defensive play by Fiji before exploding in the fourth with 8 runs, Ty Saiske cleared the bases with a 3-run triple as the game was put out of reach for Fiji.
