Three up, Three down was a theme Samoa could not break out of as American Samoa shut them down 10-0.

The story of the day was pitching and defense, as American Samoa had only one error and allowed one hit by Sam Ah Lam in the top of the fifth.  The pitcher, Daniel Va'a, controlled the game and pitched a steller performance for American Samoa in allowing only two runners to reach base.

American Samoa scored with ease in the first inning with 4 runs, capped off with a 2-run RBI double by Vili Fa'apouli.  Added another 4 runs in the third inning, and tacked on a run in the fifth and sixth to seal the victory.

Samoa showed some of their youth with a couple of errors, walks and even bolked in a run.  American Samoa took advantage of these mishaps as they remained in the fight for the gold medal.
