First ever Women's Cricket Tri Series on home soil

18 ni-Vanuatu were selected, the majority hailing from nearby Efate's largest village, and the country's largest - Mele village. Traditional Cricket was the popular form of cricket played from the years back, up until 2009.

The Vanuatu team, fairly young - only of a few months old is captained by inspriing young Alvina Chilia, also from Mele Village. Experienced Alvina was the only female who part took along with the U15 boys national team to Indonesia in 2007.

Vanuatu Women and Sport Commission chairwoman Dalsie Baniala said it was an inspiration for our young and successful women cricketers, on this very beginning to take the lead as ambassadors, prove that Vanuatu women can play international cricket and that inspriation will develop in the years to come as more women come to play cricket, their perfection in skills, and their passion will be of great challenge to boost the development of women's cricket.
