Team Palau set to leave for MBT 19 Under cagefest

Team Palau will be sending the boy’s and girl’s 19 and Under teams for the weeklong tournament. For the boy’s team it will be composed of Marvic Ngchar, O’Brien Ngemaes Jr., RB Dorado, Edward Baysa, Ray Rumong, Ngetimis Emesiochel, Medermel Yaoch, Keene Isao, Lipsman Timothy, Shonty Ubedei, O’Quinn Sakuma and Jim Ge with Ziske Asanuma as head coach and Logan Ngiriou as assistant coach.

For the girl’s team it will be composed of Diliaur Kumaichi, Ipolani Kebekol, Charity Chiokai, Meangeldil Azuma, Trang Sarabeth Ksano, Chantal Vanderberg, Kukong Ridep, Sherelle Williams, Deureng Misech, Mahealani Adelbai, Dorene Olkeriil, Marley Rubauliman and Cherry Steven with Jubilee Kuartei as head coach and Happy Fritz as assistant coach.

Team Palau will be competing against teams from the Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Island and two teams from host Guam.

In the schedule obtained by Island Times, the tournament will have its opening ceremony on June 23 at 11 a.m. which will be followed by four games that will pit team Palau versus Guam Under 19 in the girls division at 12 p.m. followed by the Palau-Guam Under 19 in the men’s category at 2 p.m.

CNMI will face Guam Under 16 in the girl’s division at 4 p.m. while CNMI will be pitted against Guam Under 16 in the main game for the boys at 6 p.m.

After the opening day, team Palau will take a rest on Monday in preparation for their match against CNMI on June 25 at 5 p.m. in the girl’s division while the boys will face CNMI in the main game at 9 p.m. By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
