During the 2018 Belau Youth Games & Festival held in Koror, Palau, each of the sports federations from Wrestling, Judo and Boxing held a 3 day camp from Jun 27-29, 2018 at the Palau National Gym. Aside from other sports being held during the Belau Youth Games & Festival, expose the contact sport were able to attract and expose many of the youths taking part in the games to take part in the camp. There were about 30 participants, boys and girls that attended the camp each day, ranging from ages 5 years old and up to 17 years old. The camp involved teaching the youth proper stance, conditioning-cross fit exercises through multiple workouts and drills, techniques relevant to each of the sport and how to prepare for the judo, boxing and wrestling competitions.
Judo held its first competition on Thursday, June 28th and after 3 days of competition, the Beach Wrestling Competition – Klaibedechakl was held at Long Island on Saturday, June 30, 2018. It was a lot of fun for everyone taking part in the competition, win or lose, everyone had fun and it was really exciting to see the youth compete. Special thanks goes out to Koror State for hosting the event along with Palau NOC, the sports federations, organizers and volunteers, most of all congratulations to all the athletes.
