Suva will host the most prestigious group of VIPS for any International Sporting event, when a who’s who of Weightlifting world will descend in Suva next week for the Olympic Qualifying Event.

The International Weightlifting Federation President, Dr Tamas Ajan will lead the cadre of top level Officials to the 2016 Oceania Weightlifting Federation

The attendance of these top officials demonstrates the importance of the event in the International Calendar. This will also be a great opportunity for Fiji to showcase its capability to host such international events and hopefully plant the seed for the future hosting of Commonwealth and maybe even the World Championships in years to come.

The 2016 Oceania Weightlifting Championships, which doubles as the Olympic Qualifying Tournament will held at the Vodafone Arena from the Tuesday 24th to Saturday 28th May.
