We need to work as a team to qualify for Olympics - Vueti

National Weightlifting Coach Josefa Vueti said they need to work as a team for them to qualify for the Rio Olympics.

Vueti said he has prepared 3 teams with a total of 24 local weightlifters.

Vueti said they are looking at the strength of the individuals and capabilities of what they can achieve and are going for the Olympic Qualifier in this Championship.

Meanwhile, 16 year old Weight lifter, Eileen Cikanamata and Manueli Tulo are expected to arrive in the country next Friday to compete in the 2016 Oceania Weightlifting Championship.

Cikanamata and Tulo are currently training at the Oceania Weightlifting Institute in New Caledonia.

Cikanamata will be competing in the 69kg Category together with Apolonia Vaivai while Manueli Tulo will compete in the 56kg Category. 

The 2016 Oceania Weightlifting Championship will be held from the 24th to the 28th of this month at the Vodafone Arena.
